Holiday Season 2021

Tis The Season again I would like to wish all Cape Breton County Minor Hockey Association Members a Happy Holiday Season and all the best in the new year. This Hockey season has had its up and downs again with Covid rules and regulations. But as always over the last 18 months you have persevered and made it possible to have the players on the ice. Without the dedication and support for Parents and Team Officials that would not happen, not that we all like the rules we must follow but you all do it for the players. The players see Covid in all aspects of their daily routine – Bus Schedule / Classes / Extra curricular activities / even at home. I know they appreciate what you do each day to keep them safe. Hopefully, this Hockey Shutdown will be short lasting, and we can get back to playing again. We are having a good season with Regular Spectators and even Tournaments (Ossie Fraser and Allan Sullivan).  Special thanks to the organizers for successful weekends. Also a great big Thank You to all the Exec Members who make the Association run, their dedication to the Association and all the work that goes on behind the scenes to make things run smooth is greatly appreciated. To all Association members please take this minor delay in Hockey to spend some needed Family time. Slow the pace down and enjoy the Season. On Behalf of CBCMHA Executive Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year !! Blair George

President's Message

Hello  Welcome to 2021/2022 Hockey season  I would just like to say welcome back to a new season of hockey at Cape Breton County Minor Hockey Association. We have had our challenges with Covid 19 protocol and will continue to meet these challenges until the pandemic is over and manageable.  As you may be aware County Arena did have a recent exposure. Our Safety Coordinator, Natalia Gallant worked closely with Public Health and Hockey Nova Scotia in communicating with our membership in a timely and professional manner .  I understand that it is difficult and concerning following Covid guidelines but with the recent exposure we all need to ensure we follow these guidelines. We have to make sure that all our members are kept safe and able to have a great hockey season.   The screening process is in place for the safety of our membership and our volunteers are required to screen as per Public Health guidelines.  We appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. As you are aware, the guidelines will be changing Monday October 4th.  Spectators are required to show Proof of Vaccination before being permitted in any Arena.  Again, the Safety Reps are required to gather this info as per Public Health guidelines.   Please be respectful. A Vaccine record can be obtained by going to the following link: https://novascotia.flow.canimmunize.ca/en/portal   or by phoning 1.833.797.7772 I know as CBCMHA members we will all do what we have to do to make this a great season for all County Members ( players / Coach’s Staff / Parents / Exec ).  A big thank you to all the Team Safety Reps. As always, the Executive for CBCMHA does an exceptional job. Many thanks to all for their dedication to making CBCMHA the best in Nova Scotia !!.   Stay Safe and Keep your Stick on the Ice Have a Great Season! Blair George - President, CBCMHA
