COVID Precaution Notification at Cape Breton County Arena
Cape Breton County Minor Hockey Association is committed to the ongoing safety of all our members this upcoming hockey season as we continue to navigate the Covid-19 pandemic. We will continue to be transparent with our members and provide updates throughout the year as necessary.
The update today is to advise that Public Health is investigating a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the community. Based on the findings to date, the community exposure to COVID-19 occurred in Cape Breton County Arena (305 Keltic Drive, Sydney, NS) on September 23 (4:30 – 6:00pm) and 24 (5:30-7:00pm), 2021. The exposure may have occurred within the dressing room area, before and after U9 (pre-season) camp.
We continue to work with Public Health regarding this exposure. We have notified by email all members in the arena at the specified times with specific direction given from Public Health. Any identified close contacts will be contacted by Public Health directly.
We will update if there are any new developments regarding this exposure.
This is a friendly reminder as well if anyone is having any symptoms, even mild in nature please do not enter facilities for practices, games etc. This helps to ensure the safety of all our members.

Please stay tuned as well for further updates regarding the Mandatory Vaccine Policy that is being put in place by the Nova Scotia Government and goes into effect October 4, 2021. This policy will apply to our members and spectators at practices and games.
